Research and Development

The Research and Development department is committed to supporting the NHS Research and Development agenda by providing an environment that is conducive to the undertaking of quality research and development activities. We are an established key partner with London (South) Comprehensive Local Research Network and disease specific networks including the South East London Cancer Research Network. At South London Healthcare NHS Trust we host research funded by the Department of Health, charitable organisations, pharmaceutical companies and those undertaken as part of an academic course.

Evidence demonstrates that research improves the patient experience and helps to drive up standards. Patient safety is at the heart of research activity and the Trust is committed to deliver research in line with the Research Governance Framework for Health and Social Care and other statutory standards which ensure the safety and well being of participants.

Research project registration and obtaining Trust approval for any proposed research is an integral part of ensuring that the Trust adheres to the Research Governance Framework for Health and Social Care and the generation of good quality research.
