Trust Celebrates Staff Achievement

South London Healthcare NHS Trust celebrated its first annual staff award ceremony last week. Awards were given to long service staff who have completed 25 and 35 years at one of the SLH sites, as well in the four award categories. The awards were nominated by staff and members of the public.
Chief Executive Chris Streather said; "The staff awards was an opportunity for the Trust to recognise and reward the dedication and commitment of our staff members. This was our first staff awards as a newly merged trust and it was a pleasure to see so many examples of good patient care and innovation within the workplace."
Winner of the award for best patient experience, Dr Liam Poynter said; "Winning this award is very humbling and I am very grateful to the member of the public who nominated me."
Lynda Simmonett is a patient at the Trust who nominated Susan Donavan for the best patient experience award. She says: "Susan is always bright and breezy and has a ready smile. She is very efficient and fair and is an asset and credit to her profession."

Award for innovation
Winner: Krisia Stevens, Ward Manager, PRU site
Runner up: Surgical ward 5 PRU site
Team of the year
Winner: Interventional radiology team, QE site.
Runner up: Dermatology outpatients department, QE site
Employee of the year
Joint winners:Sian Spencer-Little, play specialist, PRU site
Dorothy Black, Healthcare Assistant, midwifery department, QM site
Best patient experience
Winner: Dr Liam Poynter General Surgery QM site
Runner up: Susan Donovan, Sister Outpatients Department, PRU site
