New Non-Executive Director Appointed to Trust

South London Healthcare NHS Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of a new non-executive director to its Board.
The new director, Jim Virdee, recently began his four year tenure at the Trust.

Jim qualified as a chartered accountant with a major international firm. He then moved into investment banking and was a Director working in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions. Subsequently, he has been Finance Director of a number of organisations, operating in the UK and internationally, and has worked with both private and listed companies in a range of sectors including technology, financial services, real estate and hospitality. He has extensive experience of financial management and control as well as the formulation and implementation of corporate strategy and change.

Announcing the appointment, Chairman John Ballard, said: "I am delighted that Jim is joining us here at South London. He has a wealth of experience in finance and we look forward to working with him."

This appointment has been made in accordance with the Commissioner for Public Appointments' Code of practice.

All non-executive appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees' political activity to be made public. Jim does not have any political affiliation or hold any other ministerial appointments.
